One of the specificities of Routens bikes is the Jo Routens front derailleur. There have been many, many variations. But these are still relatively linked to a period, I present here the main models with the most precise dating possible. Dating always made difficult by the lack of archives. 1946 ā 1950
1946 - 1950 Hugonnier - Jo Routens derailleurs in different “suicide” versions, high pull with lever on the seat tube or classic with lever on the diagonal tube.

1949
In the Auvergne competition Jo Routens used an Ultra light version in a “suicide” version Sketches by Daniel Rebour in the Cycle.
1950
New version with the brand new internal flange, the fork is not yet closed. Very few of this model were made. Like the previous models, well suited for use in double chainring but less so with a triple.
1950 - 1975
Surely the most manufactured model. Some were even made post 75. Manufacturing Jo and / or Jean Paul Routens.
1958 Le cycle croquis de Daniel Rebour
1975 - 1979
Jean Paul Routens version with the thin outer flange of the fork. A version imposed by the new cranks with a narrower space between the large chainring and the crank.
1978 - 1999
Front derailleurs with Huret Jubilé fork used with a modified Huret lever to replace the Cyclo shifters. During the same period, a few versions, but fewer were made with a Simplex fork. The version in Photo is a model with the extended fork for use on tandem.
